Let’s Talk

This week, my campaign sent letters to several community groups and neighborhood associations, suggesting they consider hosting a candidate forum for the state representative race in the new, Democratic open seat in Arlington and Grand Prairie. Although we’re not exactly sure of the date at this point, we have an important Democratic primary election coming up, and we know that there will be three candidates in the race. With so many difficult issues facing our state, voters deserve to hear directly from the candidates and ask us the tough questions. I look forward to answering those questions, and I am sure the other candidates do, as well.
When I was previously in office, one of my favorite parts of the job was holding town hall meetings so that I could hear directly from constituents. I wanted to make sure I understood folks’ concerns so that I could represent them well in Austin and work effectively on their behalf. Town hall meetings, forums and debates are a vital part of our democracy and they should play an important role in this campaign. So, let’s talk.
This has been what our campaign has been all about from day one – grassroots conversations and outreach. If you are a member of an organization that you think would be interested in hosting a forum, please feel free to contact my campaign at (817) 561-4900.
I look forward to the conversation.
