In the District
State Representative Chris Turner’s first priority is addressing the needs of those he represents by providing a high level of constituent services to residents of House District 101. That includes helping constituents with various issues, holding informational events and working on critical local issues.
In just the past two years, Chris has hosted 24 public events, including:
- Paying for College Seminars
- Veterans Services Seminars
- Utility Savings Town Hall
- Veterans Services Seminar
- Texas 101 Day at the Capitol
- Texas 101 Day: State of the District
- State Highway 360 Expansion Town Hall
- Legislative Town Halls
- General Issue Town Halls
- District Office Open House & Toy Drives
In 2014, with input from members in the community, Chris identified four areas of acute need in House District 101: Healthy Communities, Local Economy & Jobs, Payday Lending, and Transportation.
To help address these issues, Chris put together a citizen task force made up of Arlington and Grand Prairie residents seeking change in their communities. The Task Force has meet several times since Fall 2015 and has worked on critical issues including vocal support of the City of Arlington’s payday lending ordinance and working with the Fort Worth Transit Authority (“The T”) to include routes in the Arlington portion of District 101 in their master plan.
