We are over one month into the 89th Legislature, and things are starting to get busy! Last week, Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows announced committee assignments for the 89th Session. I’m honored to serve on the following committees:
- State Affairs Committee
- Ways and Means Committee
- Chair of the Permanent Subcommittee on Property Tax Appraisals
The State Affairs Committee handles statewide issues like the electric grid and telecommunications. The Ways and Means Committee handles state and local tax policy. The Property Tax Appraisals Subcommittee handles all matters related to property appraisals.
As the Chair of the Property Tax Appraisals Subcommittee, I look forward to working with colleagues and stakeholders across Texas to strengthen the appraisal system and improve public confidence in the process.
